Advanced resuscitation
Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. Provide Advanced Resuscitation applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.
Outline
Respond to an emergency situation.
Perform advanced resuscitation and deliver oxygen therapy.
Communicate details of the incident.
Review the incident.
Entry Requirements
To complete Provide Advance Resuscitation it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
Appropriate clothing will need to be considered due to the nature of practical assessment.
Delivery
Face-to-face in a small group training environment.
Awards Issued
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the Statement of Attainment for:
HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
Recertification Requirements
It is recommended this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.
Specific licensing requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory.
