Learn how to empower people with a disability in a range of community and home settings so that they may achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well being.
You’ll develop the skills required to implement a person-centred approach, you’ll learn how to work without direct supervision and you may be required to supervise or coordinate a small team.

CHCMHS001 Work with people with mental health issues
HLTWHS003 Maintain work health and safety

Entry Requirements
Far North Training & Consultancy has the following selection criteria for this course:
The participant may be required before enrolling to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine what level of support the participant may need to assist them through their study program.
Licensing Requirements
There are no licensing requirements for this qualification.
Delivery
Face-to-face in a small group training environment.
Awards Issued
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the qualification:
CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability
Duration
The duration of the course will depend on your unique situation. The typical duration is 6 months.
Requirements
Applicants for this course must be able to make themselves available to undertake the industry placement of 120 hours that forms part of the training and assessment activity.
The participant must have current police check and yellow card at enrolment.
Students will also need to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week of independent research.

Full course fee $6200 (payment plans are available)

To be eligible for funding assistance you must:
Be currently employed in the industry, this includes parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants.
Already hold a Certificate III in Individual Support in either speciality Ageing, Disability or Home and Community (or superseded qualification).
The following co-contribution fees apply if the eligibility criteria are met.
Non-concession: $750
Concession: $450
