Learn how to empower people with a disability in a range of community and home settings so that they may achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well being.
You’ll develop the skills required to implement a person-centred approach, you’ll learn how to work without direct supervision and you may be required to supervise or coordinate a small team.

CHCCCS044 Follow established person-centred behaviour supports
CHCDIS017 Facilitate community participation and social inclusion
CHCDIS018Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centred approach
CHCDIS019 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs
CHCLEG003 Manage legal and ethical compliance
CHCMHS001 Work with people with mental health issues
HLTWHS003 Maintain work health and safety
Elective Units
CHCCCS036 Support relationships with carers and families
CHCDIS014 Develop and use strategies for communication with augmentative ad alternative communication systems
CHCDIS020 Work effectively in disability support
Entry Requirements
You must already hold CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) OR
CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
The participant will be required before enrolling to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine what level of support the participant may need to assist them through their study program.
Licensing Requirements
There are no licensing requirements for this qualification.

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the qualification:
CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support
Duration
The duration of the course will depend on your unique situation. The typical duration is 4-6 months.
Requirements
Mandatory industry placement of 120 hours that forms part of the training and assessment activity.
The participant must be actively and currently
Already hold Workers screening check
Already hold Blue Card may include a current police check.
Students will also need to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week of training including independent research.

Full course fee $5,500 (payment plans are available)

To be eligible for funding assistance you must:
Be currently employed in the industry, this includes parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants.
Already hold a Certificate III in Individual Support in either speciality Ageing, Disability or Home and Community (or superseded qualification).
The following co-contribution fees apply if the eligibility criteria are met.
Non-concession: $500
Concession: $300
