Aim

This is a core unit for most hospitality qualifications including Certificate I and II qualifications and is designed as an introductory unit for students starting their working life in the hospitality industry.

Components

Follow hygiene procedures and identify hygiene hazards, prevent cross contamination by washing hands, report any personal health issues, prevent food and other item contamination.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment in Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures (Safe Food Handling level one).

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion of Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures, participants will be qualified to gain employment in a range of business environments including: any venue that operates a permanent or temporary kitchen or smaller food preparation area, such as restaurants, cafes, clubs, hotels, attractions, events and conference venues, fast food restaurants, retail food outlets such as sandwich shops and food court outlets.

It would apply to tour operators involved in the preparation and service of food at temporary sites.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements to this qualification.

Program Duration

Full day of training in a face to face environment.

How to Apply

Students must complete an enrolment form and return to Far North Training & Consultancy with appropriate documentation.

$75 or $200 for both level one and level two
