About this course

This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Aim

Provide CPR course will teach you with the necessary skills to provide the primary care to an unconscious casualty in an emergency situation until the arrival of professional help.

This course focuses on practising the skill of CPR, airway management, rescue breathing and chest compressions. Principles of First Aid, legal issues in First Aid, First Aid hygiene, basic life support chart and emergency action plans are also covered in this course.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course the student will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It is recommended that students renew these skills every 12 months in line with industry standards.

Entry Requirements

It is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

3 hours face to face training.

Students must complete an enrolment form and return to Far North Training & Consultancy with appropriate documentation.
