About this course

Provide Advance Resuscitation describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. Provide Advance Resuscitation applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.

Specific licensing requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory.

Entry Requirements

To complete Provide Advance Resuscitation it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
Appropriate clothing will need to be considered due to the nature of practical assessment.


Program delivery is face to face in a small group training environment.


This advanced resuscitation course is run over a period of 6 hours face-to-face. There is no mandatory pre-course learning prior to training. Duration may vary depending on group bookings.

Award Issued

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the Statement of Attainment for:

  • HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation
  • HLTAID001 Perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation

Recertification Requirements

It is recommended this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.
