This skill set is suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving provision of direct client care or support.
Program delivery is face to face in a small group training environment.
The unit ‘Support Independence and Well-being’ requires 120 hours of work placement involving direct support work. Additionally, the participant must be able to demonstrate and safely support at least three people to enhance independence and well-being.
These units provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package or HLT Health Training Package at Certificate III or IV level.

The course duration is dependent upon previous skills and experience in the industry area together with applicable credit transfer if this should apply.

Students may be eligible for a subsidy under the Higher Level Skills program, funded by the Queensland Government, to assist in the cost of this course. The following co-contribution fees apply if the eligibility criteria are met.
