This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of administrative competencies in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement.
This program will provide a pathway to work in various business organisations – you will learn various skills that will assist you to enter the business world. Some examples are Workplace Health and Safety processes, designing and developing business documents, creating and using databases, creating electronic presentations, maintaining financial records, organising schedules, as well as other important administration skills.
Students successfully completing all the listed competencies will achieve Certificate III in Business Administration. Students who successfully achieve some of the listed competencies will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units that they have demonstrated competency.
Upon successful completion participants will be qualified to seek employment in a range of administration environments including:
- Clerical Officer
- Data Entry Operator
- Junior Personal Assistant
- Office Administration Assistant
- Office Administrator
- Word Processing Operator
There are no pre-requisites for entry to this qualification, however FNTC has the following selection criteria for this course. The participant will be required before enrolling to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine what level of support the participant may need to assist them through their study program.
This program is offered by face to face delivery mode. Program duration for a full time student is an average of 12 months. Some students may complete the course in less time, however.

Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)
If you are currently working in a business facility then you may be entitled to Recognition of Prior Learning. RPL is a nationally recognised process which helps you gain credit towards a certificate based on the skills and experience you have gained from:
- Previous learning
- Work or industry experience (paid or unpaid)
- Partially completed studies
Your experience is matched to current industry qualifications so you may gain credit towards or even recognition for a full qualification.
