Aim

This qualification reflects the role of retail sales personnel involved in a defined range of tasks to sell and demonstrate beauty and cosmetic products. They follow known routines and procedures and work under direct supervision.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a retail sales consultant in any business that sells beauty and cosmetic products and services. This can include beauty and hairdressing salons, retail outlets and department stores.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Outcome

Students successfully completing all the listed competencies will achieve Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics. Students who successfully achieve some of the listed competencies will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units that they have demonstrated competency.

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion participants will be qualified to seek employment in a range of environments including but not limited to:

  • Beauty Retail Sales Consultant
  • Beauty Cosmetics Demonstrator

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for entry to this qualification, however FNTC has the following selection criteria for this course.  The participant will be required before enrolling to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine what level of support the participant may need to assist them through their study program.

Program Duration

The program is offered as a face to face delivery mode. Full time attendance 1 day per week over 18 weeks. Student will need to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week of independent research.

Cost

Full Fee Paying: Qualification cost $1,950 plus $300 administration fee which is non-refundable.

Students must complete an enrolment form and return to Far North Training & Consultancy with appropriate documentation. For further information refer to Student Handbook.

Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)

If you are currently working in a retail or beauty setting then you may be entitled to Recognition of Prior Learning. RPL is a nationally recognised process which helps you gain credit towards a certificate based on the skills and experience you have gained from:

  • Previous learning
  • Work or industry experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Volunteering
  • Partially completed studies

Your experience is matched to current industry qualifications so you may gain credit towards or even recognition for a full qualification.
